PROCESS of the Assignment
1. Select your field experience school and collection focus
2. Print of field experience sheet and get teacher librarian and principal signatures for project
3. Decide the collection focus with teacher librarian
4. Allocate a budget-- Washington Learns suggest $20 per student for elementary and middle school and $25 per student high school. Find the number and figure out the total budget
5. Use no more than 10% of the budget for this improvement
6. Use the textbook , particularly Tool 6 , Tool 8, Tool 10 to accompany your task
7. Prepare a presentation for March 22-- it can be powerpoint or web page or alternative approved by Nadean
a. Determining factors- local, curriculum, state, learner-centered
b. Collection analysis- process, summary, tools used
c. Process of selection- justification of 10% of budget
d. How to include stakeholders
e. Writing a need for additional funding or outside funding
8. Field experience form must be returned to Nadean by the last week of class before Thursday night
9. You need to turn in copies of anything given to your field teacher librarian and a one page reflection paper on this experience and how you would apply it to your own school library in the future.
